The Boy Scouts
The Saint John Boy Scouts have a rich history, dating back to 1910 when the first troop was established at St. Jude’s Church on what is now the west side. The Scout program at King Street East’s St. John Presbyterian Church began a few years later.

Apple Day Fundraiser
Apple Day, one of the Boy Scouts' most successful annual fundraisers, was founded in Saint John in 1932 as a way to engage and thank the community. Scout Master Eli Boyaner organized this first Apple Day from his garage at 53 Elliott Row, only a block from this park. What started as a local fundraising initiative soon became a national tradition, with Boy Scouts across the country participating.
